Geile/Leon Marketing Communications

Dan Diveley Does It All

Born in St. Louis and raised in Jefferson County, “Double D” grew up with a passion for music, which led to his degree in music business from Fontbonne University. Although he enjoys spending time playing the piano at church, working in his garage and hunting, around Geile/Leon, he is known as the client matchmaker.

As our VP of Business Development, Dan is always reaching out to individuals and businesses to build relationships. This process, as is any type of matchmaking, can often be rejection-filled. However, in his 20-plus years of experience, Dan’s optimistic, never-give-up attitude never wanes. Fundamentally, Diveley facilitates the partnership of G/L with clients that value a marketing agency that is all about WHY people do business, not necessarily how/what they do. When a partnership like this is created, the growth is limitless.

Dan credits his persistence and loyalty to his military background, likening G/L’s culture to the motto of the Marine Corps, “Semper Fidelis” (always faithful). “I think that [motto also] describes the personality of our agency. G/L prides itself on integrity and honesty,” he says. In fact, it is this persistence that got him his position at G/L. “I was interested in Geile/Leon so I called Tim and sent him a few emails,” Dan adds. “He finally replied ‘Are you stalking me? Damn, you’re persistent. Let’s talk.’”

In addition to his at-home hobbies and hard work at G/L, Dan served as the American Marketing Association St. Louis Chapter’s President for two terms (1995, 2004) and facilitates the AMA Marketers’ Roundtable. The Marketers’ Roundtable, a discussion group exclusively for client-side marketers, gathers a few times a year to examine topical industry subjects and just recently completed its 18th session.

Whether it is business development, music or welding, Diveley’s unique perspective is a valuable asset to the G/L team. To learn more about the AMA Marketers’ Roundtable, or Geile/Leon, contact [email protected] or give him a call at 314.727.5850.
